Classic rock cover bands come and go. But how many of them play some of the most iconic tunes from the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes, and Neil Young in the original open tunings? Well, that’s the stock in trade of The Blackstones. The brainchild of guitarist Dreamcrusher Steve with a little help from lead vocalist Tami Tutone specializes in rocking the weekends with a heavy dose of the Stones and Crowes, along with other classics of the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s.
The Blackstones are dedicated to rocking in raw fashion while remaining true to the original arrangements…including all of those crazy Keef tunings like Open G, Open D, E, and Open C for some Bad Company numbers! You may have heard others cover these songs before, but not like this. The Blackstones flat-out rock and half the fun is watching the guitar changes on-stage between Steve and Joey X on guitar. The thumping rhythm section of Eric Pobanz on drums and Quad Cities favorite Hollywood John Resch on bass brings it all home.
