In 1984, he was trained by Isabel Bloom to make his own original concrete indoor/outdoor sculpture designs with Isabel’s original technique in a variety of color finishes.
His greatest passion is entertaining people with music. He has been performing for the past 20 years. He began his musical career at Tortilla Flats in 1985. He was discovered at local venues during “Toys For Tots” fundraisers. Since then, he has entertained thousands at many local establishments.
He currently performs as a solo artist for Quad City marathons, fundraisers, and at small venues. He performs at larger venues since 2001 with his band “Gray Wolf”. He came in second place to the Band “Keep Off The Grass” in the Oil Music Awards under the Acoustic Section as a Solo Artist.
The music he loves to play is mostly Classic Rock and Blues, Country Rock, and his own originals. In 2003, he produced his first original music CD (Just James 1st Attempt). He has a second CD in process. He has sold many copies during his shows. The appreciation and positive feedback he has received from his fans has given him the greatest sense of accomplishment he has ever known.
People tell him he sounds like a cross between Jim Croce, James Taylor, and Jimmy Buffet. He feels blessed to sound like any of these three artists (must be in the name)!!
