Plunkett - The Echo

Meeting in their freshmen P.E. class, Jake Messman, Jacob Beck, and Timothy Yates quickly found a common interest in music. Later that year they formed a band that would eventually become Plunkett. Plunkett writes melodic, guitar-driven songs with influences from 70’s rock, 80’s punk, 90’s alternative, and contemporary indie. The band has performed in a number of bars, basements, and barns across the midwest over the past 12 years, including notable performances opening for Sub Pop artist, Bully at The Raccoon Motel in Davenport, and the alternative rock legends Dinosaur Jr at Codfish Hollow in 2018. Plunkett has two studio albums, 2017’s “Anywhere Else is Where I Want To Be,” and 2019’s “Better Check the Kids.” And one EP 2018’s “Nerves.” All of Plunkett’s releases can be found on the majority of streaming services or purchased on CD at Co-Op Tape and Records in Moline. Plunkett still resides in Woodhull, IL and they are hard at work on their third full-length record.
